Overview

In this transition, next-generation energy storage and conversion technologies—such as SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell), SOEC (Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell), and ESS (Energy Storage System)—are emerging at the forefront of the global energy paradigm.
SOFC systems generate high-efficiency electricity by electrochemically converting hydrogen or hydrocarbon fuels at high temperatures (700–1,000°C), while SOEC systems produce high-purity hydrogen through the electrolysis of steam using electrical energy.
Both technologies operate under high-temperature conditions where thermal cycling stability and gas tightness are critical.
The insulation systems surrounding stacks and modules therefore require precisely engineered insulation solutions that combine exceptional high-temperature durability with low thermal conductivity.
InsulationKorea has successfully executed the entire process—from system design to the assembly of core insulation modules for SOFC and SOEC systems—demonstrating proven technical excellence in next-generation hydrogen energy applications.

Hydrogen Energy System (SOEC·SOFC) Project

* Core Technology for High-Temperature Hydrogen Energy Systems : Advanced Thermal Insulation for Extreme Conditions
SOEC and SOFC systems operate under extreme high-temperature conditions ranging from 650°C to 880°C.
Insulation Korea applied specialized high-temperature insulation materials optimized for such environments, achieving both stable operation and minimized heat loss.
